2019 Bead Peeps Swap & Hop Reveal!

To my Peeps: I think as I get older, sickness lasts longer. Everyone is better now and down to sniffles.  On to the good stuff. My partner for this years' Swap & Hop was Dain Schlegel of Dainty Designs.  However, she is recovering from a surgery and wasn't able to get beads to me.  I hope she gets better soon.  So Linda Anderson set me up with an Angel.  Krafty Max sent me a whole lot of beads. Beads on strings, beads in tubes, stone cabochons, fused glass pendants, and Czech beads, rounds, and crystals. Although, I didn't use all of the beads, I did manage to put together a few pendants and UFOs. The pendant above is one of the stones I worked with. Here are the beads she sent: Here is a pendant made with a few blue and white stones from KM. It's finished, I just need to bead up a rope. This is supposed to be a Mini Mountain Girl bracelet (Regina Payne), and I used to small purple stone beads from KM. Thank you Krafty Max for the bea

ART ELEMENTS: USE YOUR STASH CHALLENGE!

I sign up for challenges quite often as a way to find my thing.  I haven't found it yet, but I will keep creating things until I do.  Earlier this summer my youngest son was hospitalized for 27 days with an unknown virus.  I took various bead projects to pass the time at his bedside.  However, I couldn't bead.  All I could do was watch the stat screen and jump at every distressing beep or alarm.  My son is out of the hospital, but required constant care after his hospital stay.  Needless to say, I lost my bead mojo. I managed to complete this challenge, but I am just not feeling the joy of a completed project.  But, here is what I made with one of the two components I received for this challenge. The components were made by Lesley Watt.  The cuff is based on one made by Ann Benson Beading, Etsy.                        FROM JENNY'S STASH Trying something new, but need to re-engineer my idea. Front Yard Surprise!

Came home from shopping with my husband and youngest child, only to find fire and rescue trucks in front of our house and main drive.  There were also tow trucks and a crane.  The biggest surprise was the overturned 3000+ pound garbage truck in our front yard.  The truck managed to hit the power and cable/phone boxes and messed up the front yard.  The smell is awful when the weather is warm, but repairs should be completed sometime this spring. My Beloved Oreo, Beloved No More

I try to stay away from "junk food" these days, but ever so often I must indulge.  My favorite go to indulgence is always something chocolate.  Recently, when the craving hit, I grabbed a bag of my favorite, never fail, make me feel wonderful cookies....yes, I am talking about Oreos.  I always start with a tall glass of milk with a few ice cubes thrown in.  Then I open the bag and deeply inhale the dark chocolate aroma before selecting the first cookie.  However, this time, there was no dark chocolate smell at all.  I thought maybe my nose was too stuffed up from allergies.  But no, there was no dark chocolate smell.  Then I selected a cookie.  I always bite the first one before dunking the rest.  I bit into the Oreo and awaited the taste of chocolate and creamy goodness...there was none.   Eating that cookie was the most horrible experience ever.  I then passed the bag to my kids.  They tried the cookies (they don't deserve the name Oreo) and didn't like them eith

30 Paintings in 30 Days Finished!

This was a fun challenge.  I discovered that I love wax pastels and dirty pouring.  I will definitely participate in another challenge like this one.  As a matter of fact, stay tuned.  You might see my novice attempts of putting pen to paper to create art for...INKTOBER2017.
